I am responsible for the design of the DetourNZ website but I also respond to all English speaking requests for campervan holidays, as travelling in a campervan is second nature to me.
As a child I went on holiday with my parents and my sisters in a campervan. Back then it wasn’t the same kind of campervan you can get today. They weren’t as large nor so well equipped, but it was more important to have fun with my family in the middle of nature. Today campervan holidays are much improved and there is a well-developed infrastructure, there are no more excuses for not showering every day or not doing the dishes.
Those early adventures gave me the taste for travel and after saving some money from my first job I went to Ireland for two years where I continued my career in design. After a brief return to New Zealand, I once again took off to London which allowed me to achieve my career ambitions and work in magazines. At the end of this I returned home via an eight month world tour I started with Europe and Africa, the Middle East, continued to Asia, Australia and finally New Zealand. DetourNZ today allows me to continue my passion for design and my passion for travel. I love giving advice on the local places and products to try, not those found in the guidebooks. See you soon in Aotearoa.
