The DOC camping pass is available to purchase through DetourNZ.

*Please note : The pass can only be used for hired motorhomes and campervans (self contained and non self contained vehicles) - not available to privately owned vehicles.
This is not an electronic pass - please make sure you have enough time for the pass and map booklet to be posted out to your home address or the Motorhome supplier (post takes minimum 2 workings days).

It gives you access to over 90 DOC campsites across New Zealand.
Pay for an average of 3 nights, stay up to 7 nights on the same pass. (7nights must be consecutive) at one or many different campsites. There is no limit on how many passes you purchase. Please make sure you purchase the correct passes for the amount of people travelling.

There are 3 options for the weekly campsite pass.

Single (one adult) = $30

Double (two adults) = $60

Family (two adults + two children*/youth between 5-17yrs) = $90
*children under 5 are free.

There are a few exceptions for where you can't use the pass:

*Serviced Campsites
*Powered Campsite
*Campsites that are on the DOC online booking system
*Great walk campsites
